Summary
Clearward is designed so that we never receive your financial information. Everything you enter is stored and processed on your iPhone.
- We don’t collect, store or have access to the debts, budgets, payments or transactions you enter.
- The app has no account system, no bank linking, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and no advertising.
- The app does not send your data to a server or to any third party, and we do not sell data.
The Clearward app
Information you enter (debt names, balances, interest rates, minimum payments, your monthly budget, logged payments, reviewed transactions and category rules) is saved in a single file in the app’s private storage on your iPhone.
That file is protected by iOS Data Protection until you first unlock your iPhone after a restart, and it’s excluded from iCloud and computer backups. This means that if you delete the app or lose your device, your Clearward data can’t be restored unless you’ve made your own export.
The app doesn’t include a network client for your financial data, usage tracking, crash-reporting services, or remote AI. Demo mode uses fictional data held in memory and never mixes with your own records.
Statements & imports
When you choose a CSV or PDF statement to import, Clearward reads it on your iPhone to find transactions. The original file and the text extracted from it are not kept by the app. Only the transactions you review and confirm are saved, along with the source filename, until you delete them.
On-device category suggestions
On compatible iPhones running iOS 26 or later with Apple Intelligence enabled, you can ask Clearward to suggest categories for imported purchases. This uses Apple’s on-device language model only. Clearward does not use Private Cloud Compute or any other remote model.
Only short merchant descriptions are processed. Amounts, dates, account details and source documents are not included. Suggestions are never applied as confirmed. You review them like any other row.
Export & deletion
From Settings you can export all of your Clearward data as a JSON file. You choose where to save it using the iOS file exporter. Because an export contains financial information, keep it somewhere you trust.
You can delete all of your data from Settings at any time, or by deleting the app. Removing a remembered category rule doesn’t change transactions you’ve already reviewed.
This website
clearward.app doesn’t use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party fonts or scripts. The sample payoff planner runs entirely in your browser, and the numbers you type into it are never transmitted.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type and requested page) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details.
Children
Clearward is intended for adults managing their own finances and isn’t directed at children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Clearward handles information, we’ll update this page and the effective date above. If a future version ever adds optional features that send data off your device, we’ll explain them here before they ship, and they’ll require your choice to use them.
